The Claim Process
Develop a Brain Tumor After Using Depo-Provera®?
A recent study prompted lawyers to investigate claims from women who developed meningiomas after receiving the birth control shot. Depo-Provera®, which has been available since the early 1990s, does not carry any warnings about the risk of brain tumors.
Meningiomas can impact nearby brain tissue, nerves, and blood vessels, potentially leading to serious disabilities. In such cases, surgical removal of the tumor may be necessary, and brain surgery carries significant risks.
Pfizer told the Guardian, “We are aware of this potential risk associated with long-term use of progestogens and, in collaboration with regulatory agencies, are in the process of updating product labels and patient information leaflets with appropriate wording.”
